This site gives students the original source documents from the trial. Being able to view the original documents sometimes adds to the learning experience.

The site gives students material from the background to the aftermath of the trial. Students will be able to navigate categories easily.

The simulation the students will be playing. Rules are provided on the site Background information is also provided and students can also view cartoons that were published in Harper's Weekly in the 1860s.

 

The lesson on Reconstruction will begin on Monday. Tuesday's class will be conducted in the library where the computer lab is located. Each student will have access to a computer. Web links are provided above. The students will read about the impeachment proceedings during this period of time to supplement Monday's initial lesson and PowerPoint. The students will have 7 days until the class conducts a mock proceeding imitating the original Senate trial. I will decide who gives the best presentation. The vote will be by 2/3 vote just like the Senate.
